It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.” (Pro 25:2)
Have you ever been on a treasure hunt? I remember as a young man playing that game with friends. Someone hid an item of value and then provided clues to its whereabouts. The first one to solve the riddle and find the object won the game. Sometimes it was a series or progression of clues and hidden objects that led to the ultimate prize.
Throughout His Word, and even in the creation itself, God has hidden clues and buried treasure. God says this glorifies Him. He also tells us it is an honor for us to search for them. Read Hebrews chapter 11 and see what God says about diligently seeking.
You have had those “aha” moments. Times when the “light came on”. Those moments are a gift from God, and there is an unlimited supply of them waiting for you in His Word.
One of the goals of this site is to inspire you to take up the Word and seek for hidden treasure, to take you on a treasure hunt, if you will. As you do so, God will provide you with the light you need. And here is your first clue; the great principles and truths revealed in the New Testament are illustrated in the Old Testament.
More clues will be added under the “Catalysts” category at right as time permits.
Happy hunting!

“For so it must be: this perishable nature must clothe itself with what is imperishable, and this mortality must clothe itself with immortality. But when this perishable nature has put on what is imperishable, and this mortality has put on immortality, then will the words of Scripture be fulfilled, ‘DEATH HAS BEEN SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY.’”1Co 15:53-54 (WNT)
Dear Friend,
When the light finally comes, a joy overwhelming (indescribable) takes hold. The magnificence of the Evangel is breathtaking. I hope and pray that the Holy Spirit opens your heart to see the Glory of the Blessed Hope - that in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself and that He will not rest until all the lost sheep, every man women and child ever born, have been returned to the fold.
I am just beginning this journey. Though I have been a Christian for more than thirty years and was raised in a believing home, God has only recently begun to open my eyes to the full scope and power of the Gospel. I hope to add studies regularly that bring to light texts that have always been there, but now leap from the pages of scripture with the profound hope that once “turned the world upside down”.
Let’s take this journey together shall we? I know there are questions and millenia of contrary traditions to wade through. But the labor will be worth it.
God Bless you and may He…
”…grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, forever. Amen. ” (Eph 3:16-21)
Yours in Christ,
Joel
